St. Cecilia's Convent Secondary School
School History.
I love my new secondary school and it makes it more interesting to know about the history of this school. Well, form two students (including me) were assigned this project for our History Education. I hated it at first but then I see that this project really have it's own benefit. hehehe..
- in the class, where we took lot and lots of pics..

I understand that positive result not only command respect but more often than not inspire our team to continue to look for ways to perform more efficiently. I know most students like me also dislike extra projects but anyway, they did help me alot ; improving my relationship with friends, find out informations, have a fun, positive pastime. Individual projects, on the other hand, gave me the creeps. It depends though. Some people prefers individual projects.
Before St. Cecilia Primary School was built, there was a co-education Primary School at St. Mary's Labuk Road. It was known as Our Lady of Fatima and Rev. Fr. Crowther was its director. Then, in 1963, Rev. Mother St. Leonard built the St. Cecilia's Primary school and some of the boys & girls from Our Lady of Fatima Primary school were transferred to this new school. In 1966, the St.Cecilia's Convent Secondary School was built next to the primary school block & was officially declared open by the Honourable Datuk OKK Mohd. Yasin, a cabinet Minister of Sabah on 1st December 1966. So now, St. Cecilia's school was converted into a secondary school for girls only.
Rev. Mother St. Leonard served until 1968 and was replaced by Rev. Mother Francis Teresa. She continued with the good work of her predecesser. In 1970, Mother Francis Teresa had to leave the school- something to do with the new immigration ruling thingy. I don't really know~~ In 1974, St. Cecilia was taken over by the Board of Management.

*On the 21st February 1975, St. Cecilia'a Secondary School received the Apostolic Blessing from the Pope!
Our school is named after a Saint, Saint Cecilia, a Roman Catholic from Italy. St. Cecilia is the patron Saints of musicians because as she was dying she sang to God. She loves music, and died as a martyr.
