As an observer
"To acquire knowledge, one must study; but to acquire wisdom, one must observe."
Just to update something about myself, I've been to the debate competition for the year 2011. Not as a competitor, just as an observer . My English teachers decided to put me in the next year's debate team. Oh I sure hope I could do my very best. The first round and the semi final was pretty tense. So, I'm sure you had an idea to what the final itself look like. SCARY. I brought a Handycam along, which means I got a chance to record the debate! My school debate team has put their heart and soul into this debate thingy but it seems like SM Sung Siew has the culture to win annually. Thus, meeting them in the final round makes them, makes ME nervous too. Preparation was not strong on this third debate topic as we had not expect to make it this far. However, confidence and talent brought our 5 debaters such strength to stand proud and compete in finals representing the opponent. The title of the final debate is 'There Is a Price For Modernisation'. From there, I got a lot of information and experience on debate.
Moreover, did I mention that being in a convent school for almost 3 years makes my mind setting to anti-boys? hahahaha, not in a bad way., just an awkward moment to be around high school guys now. I update my brain about boys like every hour when I'm in primary school. Meeting boys in SM Sung Siew? >>>eekkk virus detected. But so far, so good. Some are the 'good' virus and some are the 'dangerous' type. What a life. Got a chance to mix with boys for awhile. I gotta say that their ideas and way of thinking are surprisingly different from girls.
Talking bout debate, I'll be joining my class debate in BM (perbahasan) next week. Haven't prepared anything T___T I sure pray that this time we will win although it's just a part of BM class learning activity. I'm going to take what I have observe and put it in this debate team despite the language difference. Improvement comes from failure, and so I am not afraid to lose either. Whatever happens, happens for a reason..

"If I were to prescribe one process in the training of men which is fundamental to success in any direction, it would be thoroughgoing training in the habit of accurate observation. It is a habit which every one of us should be seeking ever more to perfect." - Eugene G. Grace
