Be more vigilant
Hello everyone!! I'm so excited! I got a new laptop and I assume it's my PMR result gift haha. It's maroon in colour and I thank God for blessing me with this technology. So the pictures of me would be taken by my new Acer Crystal Eye Webcam while webcam-ing with Beverly :D
One of my resolutions this year is to blog frequently and be more active in almost everything! From academic to sports, to social life and family bondage, I'mma jump right in this time. No excuses. I wonder what's going on in all the Form 4 students' mind right now. I confess - its reaaaly tough being in Form 4. One of the dominant reasons are the subjects, they are obviously super new to a normal-rate human brain like me, not to mention I'm in a 'good' class which means a tight competition throughout the year. Now I really hate studies..T___T. But look on the bright side, oh never mind....

Being alert at all times is one thing in gaining control of a new chapter in life. How do I do that? Well I don't really know how, but it just happens. So for me, being alert begins from the heart. Set a well defined goal you want to achieve. Motivate yourself apart from the motivation from others, for example, tell your inner self that you want to be a top student or you want to finish your job in time, efficiently. That way, your mind would have extra strength to be more observant during learning periods simply because you have planted the determination in you. Next, break those huge persistence into smaller bits so that your goals could run systematically and productive.
It's a giant step journeying from lower secondary to upper secondary in such a short amount of time. I'm in Science stream which opens up more possibilities of dropping dead on the spot while learning lol. I got a lot of inspiration this year, which is a good thing. Unlike last year, my brain cells cooperated with me this time, THANK YOU BRAIN CELLS! The first week of school and already there's essays to do? 'Not a big deal' - says my brain. I owe my brain cells a lot, I should consider sleeping early and give it some love haha! My other practice in keeping myself 'doing-great' in school is preparing early. I prepare my books according to my schedule at night so to avoid the hustle in the mornings, where we could have more time to enjoy breakfast and meditate a prayer before begin our day. In class, if I am sleepy, I try to make my position 'less comfortable' by sitting at the edge (about 1/3) of the chair with a straight back (got this tip from my Physics teacher hehe..). It works pretty good for me. :D Besides, leaning backwards on your chair just indicates that your not interested in acquiring knowledge, it's not a very good impression to leave on your teachers & classmates right?
My best-loved non-tension method is to stimulate the brain. This kind of thing only works with friends, that is to have a good laugh. As simple as that, to put your mind in a pleasurable place it deserves to be. Stay focus on good things as much as you can and it will help to keep your mind awake. Physical movement is essential too. Exercise your neck from time to time to enable a better blood circulation so that oxygen gets to your brain. I exercise my hands as well if we happen to take a lot of notes. Ok let's just say I am not the type of person who shuts up the entire class, but I do try to refrain myself from talking too much during lessons. Lending my ears to the teacher in front brings benefit :) Oh, and I drink a lot too.. A LOT MORE than you think .....since I knew water contains oxygen molecules to help my brain XD
I ALSO REWARD MYSELF whenever I promised myself to complete a job. Usually, I'll go online after I complete my homeworks, or I'll read a magazine after that. You can also hang out with our friends or play some games, maybe suck a lollipop. No big things, just little happy things. This little step somehow maintains my motivation. Distractions come and go, of course. But take control. Being focused on the direction you're going eats time and may involve a lot of sacrifices along the way. Which is why I try to make myself as comfortable as possible in the learning process. I don't do this all alone, I got help from most of my friends and families. Thank God I live in this era, where we can freely surf the web about almost anything! Technologies are my bestfriend in education too and I want to take this opportunity to thank every single soul who had share, cherish, and enlightened me throughout the year. Many many thanks!!
