CNY Fullhouse, Day 2

Was invited to an open house here in mile 7 yesterday. I am so frustrated of myself because I failed to ask whose house is that T____T. So until today, it remains unknown to me. Oh wells.

As I said on my previous post, I'm only interested in watching pretty lion dances on poles lol. (actually they are called 'jongs') Well, I got my wish haha! And I didn't expect it to be so soon, it took me off guard! I know lion dances are often mistaken with dragon dances, which I can't complain since I once had that mixed up too. In comparison, I prefer lion dance cause It's less complicated but artistic. Their unique movements + emotions excites me, especially the blinking eyes and super acrobatic stunts.

Lion dances are not only known for their artistic performance and entertainment. Growing up as part of a Chinese family, I have heard stories from my mum, dad, aunts, cousins, etc. that lions are regarded as a 'protector' or a guardian to drive away evil spirits. That's why the Chinese always invited this lion dance to perform at their homes during custom festivals and events such as weddings and celebrating the birth of a baby though it's always associated with CNY. Lion dances marks the start of an auspicious event and I'm sure it brings joy to everyone. right? right?

enjoying the show :)

some of those invited who I don't know.
More lion dance pics;

Awww..isn't it cute? It's staring at me o.O

Firecrackers!! It was so loud I would've have been deaf for like 2 minutes. We also brought the same type home*shhh..hahaha

I call him naughty boy. His English is very cute!

There are children everywhere. I love love love children, so I went around snapping pics of them *hohoho. Don't sue me, seriously you won't get anything anyway.

Cuteness overload! They were running like crazy here and there trying their best to avoid my camera lenses like it was trying to eat them or something. Sometimes I wonder, do I do that when I was a kid? Oh kids.

Say hello to Winnie! (I don't know if the spelling is correct )

Flash and without flash, thanks to Joyce's camera.

Got a pic with my brother, Happy CNY Shawn!

FINALLY!! I got a pic with the kid. Lol. It's been such an effort to 'steal' her shot and at last all it took was a nice invite to take a picture -.=. So much for all the wasted energy haha. I got so many pictures in my doc but looks like this will be it :) So it's in with the new, out with the old readers! Happy Chinese New Year again! pssstt! - give me ang pau ok...:P
