CNY Fullhouse, Day 1
Hi readers! I'm literally exhausted right now. Slept at almost dawn last night with all the Mahjong players. One thing leads to another and blablabla, finally it's past 3a.m. I mean, come on it's The first day of Chinese New Year! I'm very proud to say that this year's CNY has major contrast from my 'usual' way of celebrating it. First things first - CNY is the longest holiday in China, which lasts up to 15 days whereas in urban areas it lasted only 7 days. Being 50% Chinese by no doubts, CNY thrills me in terms of tradition and customs. Trust me, there are many do's and don'ts on this special occasion that I am happy to 'follow'.
When I was a kid, I wonder why CNY never falls on the same date each year. Turns out it is based on lunar and solar movements, hence the vary dates, usually on January or February. I also miss those times where my mum would tell me stories and intrigue me with those Chinese beliefs.

kiddos
Ok my head is temporarily jam now because THERE'S LION DANCE IN FRONT OF MY HOUSE WITH EXTREMELY LOUD CYMBALS AND DRUMS and here I am still trying to blog my head off lol. I peeked out my window and guess what? The lion dance was performed by non-chinese ahahhaa.. If I'm not mistaken, they are from Bugis origin. Not bad ehh? After all, the show must go on..=.=. Anyway, screw the noise, I am only 100% interested to watch lion dances if they had those pillars thingy. Another thing is, the lion must be very pretty, like very very pretty.

1. I commemorate my CNY in Sandakan (SDK), Sabah which is obviously not my hometown, not even close.
2. I spend my time with my uncle's family who came all the way from K.K, as a result of this, there are around 5 families staying in our house! That's where I came up with my post title :)
3. I don't know more than half of them, which makes situation more awkward than I imagined it would be.
4. I am FAR apart from my primary family, most specifically my dad's side who are pure Chinese that celebrates CNY the old fashioned way.
5. We visited the monkeys to celebrate with them XD
Trip to Labuk Bay
Shortly after our visit to Auntie whose-name-I-don't-know house, we went to Labuk Bay! Again. I took a trip there a gazillion times but I still love every moment of it! Partly because it's a different atmosphere this time. The bad news is, it started raining on our way. The good news is we're on our way. So, no regrets! Borneo's indigenous proboscis monkeys came out on their feeding time as usual despite the rain, so I consider this trip a success lol. Before that, we stop by at Samjaya food court for lunch. I had Nasi Pataya and it's soooo good I could almost taste it again now haha! Talking bout food, one thing you should know about my CNY habit is I am attached to mandarin oranges, especially seedless ones. I would be famously considered abnormal if I resist them.
When I am younger, I despise mandarin oranges because of their seeds lol. So immature. I once had no idea how everyone 'move' the seeds in their tongue and spit it out so simply. Of course you guys know how funny the taste is when you accidentally bite the seeds. Better not to elaborate more on that, my tongue is already feeling like orange seeds lol. But hey, maybe this is prove of the old saying that goes something like 'if you hate them, one day you'll like them.' =.= Scarryy.

This kid has a unique name; Corinthians, as from the Bible. We call him Cory for short.
We conquered the whole place. This is what happens when you came with full, 5 cars o.O!
lookin good mate...;) :O
Glory and Tasha
pre-feeding time.
while waiting, as usual, girls camwhore!
Hornbill, it's rare to get a shot so close up. They are one of the 'bonus' in the Proboscis monkey sanctuary. Sometimes, (if you're lucky) you can get to see the Silvered Leaf Monkey too. They are special because they could be found only in Peninsular Malaysia, Borneo and Sumatra. Plus, their offspring has yellow hair in the early stages unlike their parents who has grayish, black hair. Now that's awesome! Unfortunately, the weather is damp, and this time they didn't make an appearance. T___________T
4.30 p.m, platform B, feeding time has begun :D
We went home before 5. At home, it's another story. More than I can spill.
Cory's B'day
Now thats one lucky kid with his cake and presents. His b'day falls on Chinese New Year! Happy b'day Cory!
